Police search for Serang Hospital, because extortion to Banten Tsunami Victims

Kolom Media. The Banten Regional Police searched the Dradjat Prawiranegara Hospital or Serang Hospital for the illegal collection of the bodies of the Sunda Strait tsunami victims.

Even for the bodies of the deceased Aa Jimmy and other victims, the family was asked for a fee of millions of Rupiah.

"Yes, a search was carried out today," said Pol. Commissioner Abdul Karim, Banten Police Dirkrimsus, to a number of media crews in Banten, Wednesday 9 January 2019.

The search was carried out since 3:20 p.m. this afternoon. Until this news was written, a search was still being carried out in a number of rooms in the Dradjat Prairanegara Hospital which belonged to the Serang Regency Government.

Based on information gathered, the first search was conducted in the room of Acting Director of Dr Drjjat Prawiranegara Serang Hospital, Dr. Sri Nurhayati. However, Sri is known not to be in his room.

Investigators from the Banten Police Dirkrimsus were received by Dr. Rahmat, Deputy Director (Wadir) of Dradjat Prawiranegara Hospital Services.

"The director is outside. This is being carried out in a field (search)," said one of the hospital staff.

While the media crew is prohibited from following the search activities by the security forces. The reason is because there is an order from their leader.

It was seen that the police investigator was examining a document allegedly related to a forensic installation at Serang District Government Hospital.

Previously, the Banten Regional Police had determined three suspects, among others F as civil servants at the hospital.

Then there are employees of ambulance service providers with initials I and B who are also made suspects. Temporary evidence was confiscated in the form of receipts for payment for the collection of bodies and IDR 15 million in cash.
