Depok Throws IDR 22 Billion to Build 15 Parks

Pojok Nasional. The Depok City Government will build 15 parks in a number of urban areas in the city with a budget of more than Rp22 billion this year. The park construction project was one of Depok City Mayor Idris Abdul Shomad's campaign promises.

Previously, the Depok City Government had 30 city parks and this number would continue to grow until the upcoming 2021. The planned development of the park is 63 points, adjusting to the number of villages in the city.

Depok Mayor Idris Abdul Shomad revealed that his party had arranged the project schedule which was planned to be divided into several sessions namely 2019, 2020 and 2021.

"The criteria are integrated city parks with an area of 500 to 1000 square meters. There is a kind of semi-pavilion, there are other supporting criteria for tourism facilities and citizen sports, "Idris told reporters in Depok, Wednesday 9 January 2019.

Unfortunately, Idris admitted that the good intentions of the Depok City Government were not always going smoothly. In some cases, there are still people who refuse to make parks for various reasons. "Our target for this year will be 45 parks because 30 parks have been built before. Well this year 15 parks if there is no rejection. I emphasize here because some villages have residents who refuse even though the park is rejected, "complained Idris.

Meanwhile, Secretary of the Depok City Environment and Hygiene Agency, Ridwan said that the procurement of city parks in 63 urban village points was one of the mayor's campaign promises. At present, around 30 parks have been realized and 15 parks will be continued this year.

"If there are no obstacles this year it will be made around 15 parks, the rest will be in 2020 and 2021, during the term of Mr. Wali's duty," he said.

But for the total budget for each park, Ridwan said he did not memorize details because he had to see the details in his office.
